About us →

If you've ever spent money on Google Ads and wondered where it went, you're not alone.

Most local UK businesses lose 30-50% of their Google Ads budget to mistakes nobody told them about. Wrong match types. No negative keywords. Badly tracked conversions. Generic landing pages that don't convert.

The reason isn't bad luck. Most agencies set Google Ads up once and leave it on autopilot. Most DIY attempts use Google's "Smart Campaigns" wizard — which is built to maximise Google's revenue, not yours.

None of this is unfixable. The next sections show exactly how we approach it differently.

How We Run Google Ads Differently.

Audit First, Spend Second

We never start spending until we understand exactly what's working and what isn't. Most agencies skip this step entirely — we won't.

Built to Convert, Not to Click

Clicks are a vanity metric. Leads pay your bills. Every campaign we build is designed around conversion tracking, not impressions or click-through rates.

Weekly Eyes, Not Monthly Reports

We optimise weekly. Most agencies "manage" your account once a month and call it a service. That's not management — that's neglect with a report attached.

One Local Business Per Area

We don't run ads for two competing businesses in the same city. Your competitors are not also our clients — full stop.

Here's Exactly What Happens When You Hire Us.

1

Week 1 — Discovery & Audit

Onboarding call. We audit your current Google Ads (if any), website, conversion tracking, and competitors. You get a written audit document — yours to keep regardless of what happens next.

2

Week 2 — Strategy & Setup

We build your campaign structure, write your ads, set up conversion tracking properly, and walk you through the plan before anything goes live.

3

Week 3 — Launch

Campaigns go live. We monitor the first 72 hours closely and make rapid early adjustments based on real data.

4

Weeks 4+ — Weekly Optimisation

We adjust bids, refine keywords, kill underperforming ads, and double down on winners — every week. You get a weekly Slack or email update on what we're doing.

5

Monthly — Plain-English Reporting

Once a month you get a written report covering what we did, what's working, what we're testing next, and your numbers in pounds — not impressions.

How Google Ads Actually Works (No Jargon).

The auction

Every time someone searches Google, an auction happens in milliseconds. Advertisers bid on keywords, but the highest bid doesn't always win. Google factors in how relevant your ad is, how good your landing page is, and how often people actually click your ads. This is why a competitor with a smaller budget can outrank you if their setup is better than yours.

Quality Score

Quality Score is Google's 1-10 rating of how relevant your keywords, ads, and landing pages are. A higher Quality Score means lower costs and higher positions. Most accounts we audit have Quality Scores in the 3-5 range when they could be 7-9 with the right structure. This single fix often cuts cost-per-click in half.

Ad Rank

Ad Rank is the formula that decides whose ad shows in which position. Roughly: (Your Bid × Your Quality Score) + extras. The "extras" include ad extensions (sitelinks, callouts, structured snippets) and expected impact. Most agencies skip extensions entirely — leaving easy wins on the table.

Match types

Keywords have match types: broad, phrase, and exact. Broad match shows your ad for almost any related search — including ones you never wanted. Most accounts we audit are bleeding budget on broad match terms with no negative keywords to filter them out. Match type strategy is a craft, not a setting.

Bid strategies

Google offers manual bidding and a dozen automated strategies (Maximise Conversions, Target CPA, Target ROAS, etc.). Automated bidding only works once you have enough conversion data — typically 30+ conversions per month. Until then, manual bidding gives you control. We pick the right strategy for your stage, not Google's default.

7 Mistakes Most Google Ads Agencies Make.

01

Using Google's "Smart Campaigns"

Smart Campaigns are designed for businesses with no time and no expertise. They give Google maximum control and you minimum visibility. We never use them — they cost more and convert less than properly built campaigns.

02

Bidding on broad match without negative keywords

Broad match without a negative keyword list is the fastest way to burn budget. We audit and build negative lists for every account before turning the spend up.

03

Sending traffic to a homepage

Your homepage is built for general visitors. A Google Ads visitor is in buying mode and needs a landing page built around their specific intent. We tell you which pages need rebuilding — and why.

04

Not tracking phone calls as conversions

For local businesses, calls are often the most valuable conversion. If your tracking only counts form fills, you're invisible to Google's optimisation algorithms. We set up call tracking on every account.

05

"Optimising" once a month

Monthly check-ins are not optimisation — they're observation. Real optimisation happens weekly: pausing losers, doubling winners, refining targeting, testing new ads. We never let an account drift for a month.

06

Reporting impressions instead of pounds

Impressions, clicks, and CTR mean nothing if you can't tie them back to revenue. Our reports lead with leads generated, calls made, and revenue attributed — and nothing else until the basics are clear.

07

Locking clients into 12-month contracts

Long contracts exist because some agencies need to amortise the time they spend selling rather than serving. We don't do contracts — if we're not making you money, you should be free to leave.

Why Our Pricing Isn't On This Page.

We don't list a price because most clients don't need just Google Ads. They need Google Ads, plus a landing page that converts, plus conversion tracking that actually works, plus an email follow-up sequence so the leads they pay for don't go cold. We package it together because that's what actually makes Google Ads profitable.

On the discovery call, we'll ask about your business, your budget, and your goals — and tell you exactly what we'd recommend and what it costs. No high-pressure sales. No guessing.

Common Google Ads Questions.

It depends on your industry, location, and goals. As a guide, most local UK businesses we work with spend between £500 and £5,000 per month on ads themselves. We'll give you a clear recommendation based on your situation in the discovery call.

Google Ads is one of the fastest channels — most clients see leads within the first 1-2 weeks. The first 30 days are about gathering enough data to optimise, so we typically expect campaigns to be hitting their stride by week 4-6.

We focus on UK local businesses across six categories: trades, medical, hospitality, professional services, personal care, and retail. If you fit one of those, yes. If not, we'll tell you honestly whether we're the right fit.

This is the most common situation we see. In our experience, it's almost always one of three things: bad keyword strategy, bad conversion tracking, or a landing page that wasn't built to convert. We'll audit your previous account for free as part of the discovery call.

Often yes. Your homepage is built for general visitors. A Google Ads visitor is in buying mode and converts much better on a focused landing page. We'll review your existing pages in week 1 and tell you what needs building.

Yes, always. The account is yours. We never run client accounts under an agency MCC where you can't access them. If we ever part ways, you keep everything — campaigns, history, conversion data, all of it.

Yes. We don't do long contracts. If we're not making you money, you should be free to leave. We work on rolling monthly arrangements only.

Yes — we offer Meta Ads, SEO, Google My Business optimisation, email marketing, website development, custom apps, and CRM setup. Most clients package services together, which is one of the reasons our pricing is tailored to each business.
