The short version
This site sets no cookies of its own unless you accept Google Analytics, which is off until you do — see Visitor numbers below. It uses a handful of small pieces of browser storage so the basket, the checkout and the website configurator remember what you have done, and nothing else. UK law, PECR, covers this kind of storage as well as cookies, which is why it is all listed here.
What this site stores
| Name | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
onlineify-cart-v1 | localStorage | Remembers what is in your basket as you move between pages. | Until you clear it or empty your basket |
onlineify-checkout-v1 | localStorage | Remembers your checkout progress and the details you typed, so leaving the page does not lose them. | Until you clear it |
onlineify-configurator-v1 | localStorage | Remembers the answers you give while building a website configuration, so you can leave and come back to it. | Until you clear it or start again |
onlineify-configurator-shop-v1 | localStorage | The same, for the online shop configurator. | Until you clear it or start again |
onlineify-configurator-order-v1 | localStorage | Your order reference and receipt after you place a deposit, so returning to the page shows what you bought rather than an empty form. | Until you clear it or start again |
onlineify-configurator-enquiry-v1 | localStorage | The enquiry you sent us, including the contact details you typed, so the page can show it back to you. | Until you clear it or start again |
Every one of these is strictly necessary for the site to do what you asked of it, whether that is buying through the basket or building a configuration you can come back to, so no consent banner is required for them. They contain what you put in them and are never used to track you across other sites. Clearing them loses your saved work and nothing else.
Embedded example sites
Pages that showcase our work embed live example sites in a window. Those sites are self contained demonstrations, but if you interact with one it may store its own data in your browser in the same way any site you visit can.
Measuring the configurator
We measure how people move through the website configurator, because we want to know which questions are confusing and where people give up. That means recording which options are chosen, which screens are reached, how long each one holds attention, and where somebody stops.
None of that is stored on your device. It uses a random number held in the page's memory for as long as the tab is open, purely so we can tell one visit apart from another. Close the tab and it is gone, and nothing is left behind. That is why there is no banner asking you to accept it: there is nothing being set on your machine to accept.
It is not linked to you unless you send us an enquiry or place an order, at which point the configuration you built becomes part of that record. We do not sell it, share it, use it for advertising, or follow you to any other website. The raw records are deleted after 90 days and only anonymous totals are kept.
Configurator measurement is recorded on our own infrastructure at Cloudflare and shared with nobody.
Visitor numbers
Two things count visits to this site, and they are deliberately different from each other.
Cloudflare Web Analytics runs for everyone. It reports page views, which pages are read, roughly where in the world people are, and how quickly pages load. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so there is nothing for you to accept or refuse. It is the same reasoning as the configurator measurement above.
Google Analytics runs only if you say yes. It does set cookies, so we ask first, with a banner, before any of it loads. Until you choose, no Google script is on the page and nothing about your visit has gone to Google. If you say no, none of it ever loads, and any Google cookies already on your device from a previous visit are deleted. Saying no changes nothing about how the site works.
Your answer is remembered on your device for a year, after which we ask again. You can change your mind at any time — — or by clearing this site's storage in your browser.
Google Analytics is used for measurement only. We do not turn it on for advertising, do not build advertising audiences from it, and do not share it with anyone. If that ever changes we will ask you again rather than quietly widening what you already agreed to.
Managing storage
You can view, block or clear cookies and site storage in your browser settings at any time. Clearing this site's storage empties your basket and any unfinished checkout, and nothing else is lost.
